In order to install campus provided Macintosh software you will be required to access the Software distribution server through the built-in "Connect to Server" function. Follow the directions below to access the Software Distribution server while on campus.
Connect to the Software Distribution Server
- In the Finder, select the Go menu and then click Connect to Server.

- As shown below, type in the server name for the Software Distribution server. Enter softdist2.tss.oregonstate.edu and click Connect.

- You will be prompted for your authentication to access the Software Distribution server. Supply your credentials (ONID, Exchange, etc) to access the software packages. Make sure to put your domain and username such as the example listed below.
The files on our server are stored on a Windows server. If you have difficulties accessing the files you may need to install the Microsoft UAM which encrypts your password exchange and allows more then 8 character passwords. You can install the Microsoft UAM by visiting the Other Products section on Microsoft's MacTopia site.
- Once you are successfully logged in you will be prompted to select a volume to mount. Select Mac Software to list all of the available Macintosh software.
