Access SoftDist with Windows NT/2000

Because Windows NT/2000 has the ability to prompt a user for authentication credentials after their initial login, you do not need to follow the procedure described for Windows 95/98 workstations to get access to the software distribution point.

  1. Select 'Start', then 'Programs', then 'Accessories' and finally 'Windows Explorer'. As shown below. If you are using NT, the program is called NT Explorer.

  1. In the Explorer menu bar, select 'Tools' and then 'Map network drive', as shown below.
